Secure your caravan
Your caravan is your home, so it should be kept safe like a real home. Even when your caravan is not in use it should be secured.
Secure corner legs with strong padlocks, chains and shackles to stop your caravan being towed away
Secure the coupling head with a cover and hitch lock
Secure all wheels with good quality locking nuts, or invest in a strong wheel clamp
Make sure doors and windows are securely locked, even for short periods of time
Keep any valuables out of sight - TVs and stereos can be tempting
Like your home, always mark your property, by etching windows and other parts of the bodywork
Advice is available in the pages on Property Marking, or contact your local police Crime Prevention Advisor. You can also obtain advice from The Caravan Club at East Grinstead House, East Grinstead, West Sussex, RH19 1UA.
