Fly TippingThe unauthorised dumping of waste and rubbish in large quantities is unpleasant, illegal and anti social. For example, a rogue builder or waste carrier has dumped a large pile of building or household waste in a rural area or back lane and you are concerned that it may lead to more incidents.

Environmental Health at the local Council have the means to clean up waste and prosecute offenders. If you have discovered or witnessed fly tipping and the offenders ARE NO LONGER THERE please contact Environmental Health on the below link who can attend to this matter for you and can liaise with the police if needed.

Environmental Services will investigate the source of the waste and have the means to target areas subject to frequent tipping. 

Fly tipping is a crime and carries a maximum fine of £50,000 and up to five years imprisonment. If you witness something happening now, please call 101. 

Responsibility for the removal of illegally dumped waste on privately owned land lies with the landowner or tenant.
