We have now had the opportunity to fully consider your request and I provide a response for your attention.

Following receipt of your request, searches were conducted with the Corporate Development Department of Northumbria Police. I can confirm that the information you have requested is held by Northumbria Police.

I am able to disclose the located information to you as follows, however the below caveats should be noted:

In Questions 3 & 11 the 'Time from field' (as we record date/time from and to) has been used to determine if it was before 6am etc.
Question 4,  the location type does not always include sufficient detail to provide a definitive response, however this is as the data is held by us.
Question 5a  the keyword  "insecure", and at point  5b the keyword of "break" in the MO has been searched.
Question 6 has checked for the keyword "door" and "front" or "rear" and 6c "window" .(Note that crimes may fall into more than one of these categories.)
Question 8 the number of crimes where 1 or more people have been arrested, rather then the number of people arrested, in total has been counted.
Question 9 searches have been made for "shed", "garage", "outbuilding"(dwelling)and "out building" (dwelling) and "outhouse".

With the above in mind, please see the below which answers your queries to the best of our abilities within the constraints of recording systems used.

Due to the different methods of recording information across 43 forces, a specific response from one constabulary should not be seen as an indication of what information could be supplied (within cost) by another.  Systems used for recording these figures are not generic, nor are the procedures used locally in capturing the data.  For this reason responses between forces may differ, and should not be used for comparative purposes.

The information we have supplied to you is likely to contain intellectual property rights of Northumbria Police.  Your use of the information must be strictly in accordance with the Copyright Designs and Patents Act 1988 (as amended) or such other applicable legislation.  In particular, you must not re-use this information for any commercial purpose.
