Provision of information held by Northumbria Police made under the Freedom of Information Act 2000 (the 'Act')(FOIA)

Thank you for your email dated 5 December 2013 in which you made a request for access to certain information which may be held by Northumbria Police.

As you may be aware the purpose of the Act is to allow a general right of access to information held by a Public Authority (including the Police), subject to certain limitations and exemptions.

You asked: 

Since the child sex offender disclosure scheme (also known as Sarah’s Law) was rolled out nationally at the start of April 2011:
 
1)  How many

a) enquiries and 

b) formal applications for information about named individuals has your force received?
Please provide these figures broken down by month from April 2011 up to and including November 2013.
 
2)  Of those requests, how many

 
a) enquiries and
b) formal applications have led to disclosures from your force that the individual has been
c) convicted of sexual offences against children, or
d) poses a risk to children?
Please provide these figures broken down by
i) month from April 2011 up to and including November 2013
ii) by offence.

In response:

We have now had the opportunity to fully consider your request and I provide a response for your attention.

Following receipt of your request, searches were conducted with the Legal Department of Northumbria Police. I can confirm that the information you have requested is held by Northumbria Police.

I have today decided to disclose the located information to you as follows
