Provision of information held by Northumbria Police made under the Freedom of Information Act 2000 (the 'Act')

Thank you for your e mail dated 26 February 2017 in which you made a request for access to certain information which may be held by Northumbria Police. 

As you may be aware the purpose of the Act is to allow a general right of access to information held at the time of a request, by a Public Authority (including the Police), subject to certain limitations and exemptions. 

You asked:

1. How many people received a Football Banning Order in the last three years? With what team are they associated?

2. How old is the youngest person to receive a Football Banning Order in the last three years? With what team are they associated?

3. How many under 18s in your force area have received a Football Banning Order in the last three years? With what team are they associated?

4.How old is the oldest person to receive a Football Banning Order in the last three years? With what football team are they associated?

5.How many over 50s in your force area have received a Football Banning Order in the last three years? With what football team are they associated?

To clarify: by last three years I mean 2014, 2015 and 2016

  

We have now had the opportunity to fully consider your request and I provide a response for your attention.

Following receipt of your request, searches were conducted with the Operations Department of Northumbria Police. I can confirm that the information you have requested is held by Northumbria Police. 

I am able to disclose the located information to you as follows. 

With regards to the periods 2014 & 2015:

As the information you have requested is accessible by other means I have not provided you with a copy of the information and will rely on Section 21 of the Freedom of Information Act 2000.  You should therefore consider this a refusal for your request. 

I have provided an explanation to this exemption below. 

Section 21 (1) - Information accessible by other means

Information which is reasonably accessible to the applicant is exempt information.

Information for those periods has been requested, released and published via the Northumbria Police Disclosure Log.  FOI 346/16 refers and the link to the Log is provided below.

With regards 2016 data I respond as follows: 

1. 14 associated  to NUFC, 11 associated to SAFC.

2. Youngest remains as of 346/16

3. None

4. 64 years old - associated to NUFC.

5. 2 supporters associated to NUFC  banned in the last 3yrs are over 50yrs old. 

    4 supporters associated to SAFC  banned in the last 3yrs are over 50yrs old.
