Provision of information held by Northumbria Police made under the Freedom of Information Act 2000 (the 'Act')(FOIA)

Thank you for your email dated 20 July 2012 in which you made a request for access to certain information which may be held by Northumbria Police.

As you may be aware the purpose of the Act is to allow a general right of access to information held by a Public Authority (including the Police), subject to certain limitations and exemptions.

You asked: 

a. Please state the total amount of overtime pay your force paid out in the financial year 2011/12. This should relate to the overtime paid to police officers ONLY and NOT civilian staff.
 
b. Please state the total amount of overtime pay received in the last financial year (11/12) for the officer who received the most in overtime pay for constables or sergeants.

After seeking clarification on the 1st August you defined your request further on the 14th August to  enable us to progress with your query.

'This should exclude officers whose overtime is not directly controlled by Northumbria Police, ie  Officers on secondment outside of the Force control.'

In response:

We have now had the opportunity to fully consider your request and I provide a response for your attention.

Following receipt of your request, searches were conducted with the Finance Department of Northumbria Police.  I can confirm that the information you have requested is held by Northumbria Police.

I have decided to disclose the located information to you as follows.

a. £6,102,000

b.  £13,055
