Provision of information held by Northumbria Police made under the Freedom of Information Act 2000 (the 'Act')(FOIA)

Thank you for your email dated 17 February 2012 in which you made a request for access to certain information which may be held by Northumbria Police.

As you may be aware the purpose of the Act is to allow a general right of access to information held by a Public Authority (including the Police), subject to certain limitations and exemptions.

You asked: 

Freedom of Information Request as follows please: Answers to the below questions itemised for the years of 2006, 2007, 2008, 2009, 2010 and 2011.

  1. Total amount of Confiscation Orders and Cash seizures made under the Proceeds Of Crime Act (POCA) for each year

  2. Total monetary value of Confiscation Orders and Cash seizures for each year.

  3. Total value of available amount in relation to Confiscation Orders for each year.

  4. Total received by your police force under the Asset Recovery Incentivisation Scheme for each year.

  5. Details of how funds from the Incentivisation Scheme have been used by the force each year.

  6. How much was allocated to any asset recovery initiative/ project each year.

  7. How much has been allocated to directly fund existing or new Financial Investigator (FI) posts.

  8. How much paid into police forces central general budget.

  9. How many Financial Investigator (FI) posts were there in the police force for each year 2006 – 2011. If possible could you supply details of police officers and support staff in these posts.

  10. How many FI’s were there in force in 2002. If possible could you supply details of police officers and support staff in these posts.

We have now had the opportunity to fully consider your request and I provide a response for your attention.

Following receipt of your request, searches were conducted with the Crime and HR Departments of Northumbria Police.  I can confirm that the information you have requested is held by Northumbria Police.
