Police have made further arrests as investigations continue into allegations of sexual offences committed against vulnerable women and girls.

The arrest total for Operation Sanctuary, which was launched in January, now stands at 75 (72 men and three women).

Police have also charged 11 people in connection with the investigation. All those charged are now in the court system.

Officers are currently working with partners to speak to all the complainants to establish the circumstances and provide appropriate support.

The public and local businesses are continuing to give their support to the operation and are providing information on any suspicious activity they may see.

Police are asking everyone to keep being vigilant and report any information that may prove vital to enquiries and help provide a true picture of crimes that specifically target vulnerability.

Anyone with any information or concerns is asked to contact police on 101 ext 69191, quoting reference 'Operation Sanctuary', or the independent charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.

Advice and support is also available via Victim Support on 0845 277 0977 or Childline on 0800 1111.
