Man assaulted at pub

Police are appealing for information after a man was assaulted at a South Tyneside pub.

The incident happened between 10.10pm and 10.20pm, on Sunday, December 28.

The 43-year-old was approached by another man while in the Red Hackle, on Perth Avenue, Jarrow before being assaulted suffering facial injuries.

The offender is described as white, aged in his 50s, around 6ft tall, of stocky build and clean shaven with short grey hair.

He was wearing jeans, a long sleeved grey top and dress shoes.

Enquiries into the assault are ongoing and police are urging anyone with information to come forward.

Any witnesses or anyone with information on the incident is asked to contact police on 101, extension 69191, quoting log number 1022 28/12/14.
