Northumbria Police Charities Fund has helped a North Tyneside project supporting people with learning disabilities.

The Fund, which helps individuals, organisations and good causes throughout the Northumbria Police area, provided the North Tyneside based LD North East Tomorrows Project with a Kindle for a raffle to raise money.

PC Laura Batey who is based with Wallsend Neighbourhood Policing Team works with the project which helps people with learning disabilities who are trying to live independent lives.

She said: “Tomorrows is a new project for people from North Tyneside who are over the age of 50 and have a learning disability. The Kindle was used as part of a raffle to raise funds for the charity at a festival day.”
