Police in North Tyneside are releasing images of people who may be able to help with unsolved shoplifting crimes.

The appeal comes as Northumbria Police continue to crackdown on shoplifting in 2015 as part of Operation Soundwave - the forcewide initiative targeting opportunist thieves.

Chief Inspector, Stephen Readdie, of North Tyneside Area Command said: "We're keen to identify the people pictured as they may have important information that can help with our enquiries into these thefts.

"The Soundwave campaign will continue throughout the year and will see officers carry out additional patrols in key areas, targeting known offenders, conducting covert patrols and promoting crime prevention opportunities."

Anyone who recognises the people pictured, or has information about any of the thefts, is asked to contact Northumbria Police on 101 ext 69191 and quote the reference number, alternatively they can ring the independent charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
