Theft from community garden

Police are appealing for witnesses after a theft from a community garden in Newcastle.

It happened between 5pm on Saturday, December 20, and 7am on Saturday, January 3, at Scotswood Natural Community Garden, at Whickham View in Scotswood.

Damage was caused and a parasol was stolen.

Police are appealing for anyone who saw anything suspicious in the area or has information about the person or people responsible to contact them on 101 ext 69191, quoting reference 343 05/01/15, or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.

The appeal comes during Northumbria Police's Operation Soundwave, aimed at tackling thieves and burglars across the force.
