Two cars have been seized as part of an operation targeting dangerous drivers.

On Sunday night, January 11, officers responded to reports of speeding and anti-social driving at the Metro Retail Park in the Team Valley.

Motor Patrols officers from the Operation Dragoon team attended and two drivers were stopped and spoken to about their driving.

Their cars, two Mazda MX5 sports cars, were seized under Section 59 of the Police Reform Act and towed away.

Motor Patrols Chief Inspector John Heckels said: "This should show any potential dangerous drivers that if they choose to drive dangerously on our roads then they face being stopped, having their cars taken off them and facing criminal action.

"It also shows that if people tell us about dangerous drivers or driving then we will take action.

"We need the public to tell us when and where dangerous driving is happening so we can respond. Report it to the Operation Dragoon team by ringing 101."
