Shop robbery in Hazelrigg

Police are appealing for witnesses after a shop robbery in North Tyneside.

It happened at 10.20pm on Monday, January 12, at the One Stop Shop at South View in Hazelrigg when police received a report that a robbery had taken place.

A man wearing dark clothing and a balaclava, and in possession of a knife, went into the shop and threatened staff. He made off with cash and cigarettes.

No-one was injured but staff were left shaken following the incident.

Extra patrols are taking place in the area to reassure residents to the carry out enquiries into the robbery.
