Residents in the Gateshead are being invited to attend local surgeries with police.

Over the coming weeks Gateshead Inner West Neighbourhood Policing Team - which includes Lobley Hill, Whickham, Swalwell and Dunston - is hosting meetings aimed at bringing police and the local community together to discuss local concerns.

The meetings will be held at the following dates and locations:

Local Policing Surgery - Sunniside Club

January 28 at 7pm

March 4 at 7pm

Police and Local Councillor Surgery - Lobley Hill Community Centre, Scafell Gardens

February 3 at 5.30pm

March 10 at 5.30pm

Local Policing Surgery - Redheugh Boys Club, Bolam Street, Teams

February 18 at 11am

March 22 at 5pm

Neighbourhood Inspector Cheryl Warcup said: "It's important for us to hear the views of residents so we can ensure we're tackling those issues which are of most concern to the community.

"It's also an opportunist for us to speak to them about current operational activity where they live and to ensure they have crime prevention advice to keep themselves and their property safe.

"Local residents are urged to attend meetings taking place in their area to raise any concerns they may have and hear what has been done to tackle the issues in their neighbourhood."
