Police in Sunderland are stepping up patrols to tackle anti-social behaviour.

It follows concerns about large groups of youths gathering in the area around the metro station near the Stadium of Light and Wearmouth Bridge.

Groups have been gathering which has resulted in an increase disorder. Now, officers are warning those involved extra patrols are being carried out and action will be taken against them.

Officers are also targeting an increase in disorder around Burger King and Sunderland Train Station and neighbourhood officers are working closely with British Transport Police.
