Assault in Whitley Bay

Police are appealing for information following an assault in North Tyneside.

It happened at 7.05pm on Monday, January 19, when a 28-year-old man was assaulted on Roxburgh Terrace in Whitley Bay and suffered a broken jaw.

A 35 year-old-man has been arrested in connection with the assault and police are appealing for anyone who witnessed it to contact them.

Police believe the assault may be linked to reports of a man fraudulently collecting money in the area posing as a window cleaner or a milkman.
