Commemorative coins taken in burglary

Police are appealing for information after a burglary in Jarrow.

Between 2:30pm Saturday, January 24, and 9:30am Sunday, January 25, burglars broke into a house in Coupland Grove.

They searched the property and stole a number of items including a set of Celestron binoculars, a pair of cuff links, an amount of cash and a number of commemorative coins.

Among the coins taken were a Royal Mint collection of silver £2 coins, a Euro 96 £2 coin, a bicentennial silver US dollar and half dollar and a silver £1 coin.

Enquiries are ongoing and police are appealing for anyone with any information into the into the break in, or the whereabouts of the stolen items, to contact them on 101 ext 69191 quoting reference number 393 25/01/15.
