Arson in East Howden

The fire happened at 10.45pm on Sunday, January 18, at The Ferryman in Chatton Street in East Howden.

A flammable liquid was poured around the entrance of the premises and set alight.

The fire is being treated as arson.

Damage was caused to the entrance of the property.

Noone was injured in the incident.

A 24-year-old man has been arrested in connection with fire and has been released on police bail.

Neighbourhood officers are carrying out regular patrols in the area to offer reassurance to the local community.

Officers are continuing to carry out enquiries and asking anyone with information to contact them.
