Man charged after collision

A man has been charged after another man was struck by a car in South Tyneside.

The incident happened at around 2.30am, on Monday, January 26, on Dulverton Avenue, when a vehicle collided with two cars in the street before colliding with a 28-year-old man.

He received cuts and bruises as a result for which he received treatment by paramedics.

Paul Summerly, 40, of Donside Close, Boldon Colliery, has been charged with attempted GBH with intent; criminal damage to property; dangerous driving and failing to provide a specimen for analysis.

He will appear before South Tyneside Magistrates' Court on February 9.
