Northumbria Police Charities Fund has donated supermarket vouchers to provide food hampers for families in Sunderland.

The Charities Fund provided £150 worth of vouchers to Lakeside Neighbourhood Watch.

Neighbourhood officer PC Mick Curtis, who put forward the initiative for funding, said: “Lakeside Neighbourhood Watch has been putting together food hampers to be distributed throughout the community and we thought this would be an excellent way of helping to support this initiative.”

Helping Lakeside Neighbourhood Watch came during a week of action in the St Chad’s Ward for the Sunderland West Neighbourhood Team.
