Money stolen from purse

Police are appealing for information after money was stolen from a teenager's purse.

The theft happened on Thursday, February 5, on Reginald Street, Boldon Colliery.

The 19-year-old victim lost her purse on the street after it dropped from her pocket. The purse was returned to her after being handed in, however, an amount of cash had been taken from it.

Police are carrying out enquiries into the money being stolen from the time the purse was lost to it being handed in.

Anyone with information on the theft is asked to contact police on 101, extension 69191, quoting log number 891 05/02/15 or the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
