Police are appealing for information after a distinctive item was stolen in Northumberland.

It happened between midnight on Monday, February 2, and 8am on Monday, February 9, when the shoemaking tool was stolen from outside the Post Office at Newton on the Moor near Alnwick.

The tool is a cobbler's last, a holding device used to fashion or repair shoes, and has three shoe stands in different sizes and is painted red.

Police are appealing for anyone with information or who has seen the stolen property or has information about its whereabouts to contact them on 101 ext 69191, quoting reference 337 09/02/15, or independent charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.

The appeal comes during Northumbria Police's Operation Soundwave, aimed at tackling opportunist thieves and burglars across the force.
