Arson to vehicles in Wallsend

Police are investigating after several vehicles were damaged by fire in Wallsend.

The incidents all happened in the early hours of Saturday, February 14 between 00.21am and 4.44am to parked unoccupied vehicles. Fire damage  was caused to four vehicles one each in Martin Road and Harrison Road and two vehicles near to each other were damaged in Hazelwood Terrace. 

The fire service attended and extinguished the fires, which caused damage to the bodywork.  No one was injured.  The incidents are being treated as arson.

Officers are treating these incidents as linked and are appealing for anyone who may have seen or heard anyone acting suspiciously around vehicles in these areas to contact police.

Officers are carrying out enquiries in the area and additional officers are on patrol to reassure the community.
