Theft at Silverlink

Police have released CCTV images of a man they wish to trace following a shoplifting in North Tyneside.

It happened between 3.25pm and 3.33pm, on Wednesday, January 21, at Sports Direct, on Silverlink Retail Park.

The offender entered the store posing as a customer before selecting items from display, placing them in a carrier bag and leaving without paying.

Police are keen to trace the person in the image who may have information to assist with ongoing enquiries.

Anyone who recognises the man or who witnessed the theft is asked to contact police on 101, extension 69191, quoting log number 669 21/01/15 or the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.         

Police are continuing to target shoplifters as part of the forcewide campaign Operation Soundwave focusing on all acquisitive crime.
