Police are appealing for information after a vehicle was taken without the owners consent in Northumberland.

It happened between 4pm on Tuesday, February 17, and 1.30am on Wednesday, February 18, when offenders forced entry into a storage yard at the old Fire Station, Albion Terrace in Cramlington and took a three tonne dumper truck.

It is believed the offenders drove the truck around Northburn Estate before abandoning it on a cycle path near to Durham Road and making off.

The appeal comes as part of Operation Soundwave - targeting opportunist thieves and burglars across the force. For more information visit: http://www.northumbria.police.uk/advice_and_information/crime_prevention/index.asp
