Police are continuing to make enquiries into an aggravated burglary in Newcastle.

It happened between 6.30pm and 7pm on Wednesday, March 11, at  an address in Lewis Drive.

Two masked men entered the property via an insecure window, they were armed with knives and threatened the occupants, a 56-year-old woman and 59-year-old man.

The two offenders then let two other masked men into the house via the front door. The men stole an undisclosed amount of jewellery and made off in what is believed to be a black Vauxhall Zafira, which has been found left in Greywood Avenue, Fenham, on Thursday morning, March 12.

The offenders are described as all dressed in black and wearing masks.
