Theft of fuel from school minibus

Police are appealing for witnesses after fuel was stolen from a school minibus in Blyth.

The incident happened on School Avenue in Guidepost between 3.30pm on Wednesday, March 18 and 9.15am on Thursday, March 19 when an offender as cut the fuel lines and abstracted diesel from the vehicle.

PC Gavin Wallace said: "I urge anyone who may have any information to come forward. This was school minibus and as a result of this crime, some of the children at the school have missed out on a pre-arranged trip.

"They have also caused damage to the bus which will cost money to fix. This is simply unacceptable and we will catch those responsible."

Extra officers are in the area carrying out enquiries and providing reassurance.
