Appeal after arson in Sunderland

Police are appealing for information after an arson attack in Sunderland.

At around 10.15pm last night (August 12) a number of fireworks were set alight and put through the door of a property on Garfield Street.

Minor damage was caused and nobody was injured during the incident. Police are treating the incident as arson.

Extra patrols will be in the area to carry out enquiries and offer reassurance to concerned members of the public.

Two men, aged 27 and 25, and a 26-year-old woman have been arrested in connection with the incident and remain in police custody at this time.
