Appeal after robbery in North Shields

Police are appealing for information after a robbery in North Tyneside.

Just before 8am this morning (August 25) two males approached a woman after she had got off a bus on Waterville Road in North Shields.

They threatened her and stole her purse before fleeing the scene. The victim was not injured but was left distressed and very shaken by the incident.

She did not see the offenders faces but both are described as being of slim build and around 6ft tall. One was wearing a dark coloured jacket or fleece and the other was wearing jeans.

Anyone who saw anyone acting suspiciously in the area at the time, or has any information about the incident, is asked to contact police on 101 extension 69191 quoting reference number 204 25/08/15 or independent charity Crimestoppers 0800 555 111.
