Attempted shop robbery

Police are appealing for witnesses following an attempted shop robbery in Blyth.

It happened at Newsham Farm Stores, Druridge Drive on Saturday, August 22, between 3pm and 3.24pm. A man entered the store armed with a knife and demanded cash. The staff member refused and the offender left the store empty handed going towards Beadnel.

The offender is described as a white man, slim build with a distinctive pointed nose. He was wearing sunglasses and a blue hooded top, with the hood up and dark coloured jogging bottoms.

Police are appealing for witnesses, anyone who was in the area and who may have seen or heard anything suspicious is asked to contact police.
