Tools stolen from van

Police are appealing for information after a van was taken without the owners consent in South Tyneside.

It happened overnight between 10.30pm on Monday, December 21, and 4.45am on Tuesday, December 22, when offenders drove off with the white transit van parked on West Avenue in South Shields. 

The van, with 'DK Locks' in large black lettering on the side, was found abandoned in the Cleadon Hills area at 9.30am the same day.

Contents inside the van were stolen including; key cutting equipment, drill, grinder, circular saw and other hand tools and shelving.

Police are carrying out enquiries in the area and are appealing for witnesses.

Officers want to hear from anyone who saw the van being taken, or abandoned later on.  Also they want to hear from anyone who may be offered these items for sale.
