Man bitten by dog in Newcastle

Police are appealing for information after a man was bitten by a dog in Newcastle.

At 6:20pm on Friday, December 18, a 69-year-old man was walking through Old Eldon Square, near to the Prezzo restaurant, when he was bitten by a Staffordshire Bull type dog.

He suffered an injury to his leg and received hospital treatment for the injury.

The tan coloured dog was being led by a man who was in his early 20s, around 5ft 11ins tall and of slim build. He was wearing a white cap, black tracksuit bottoms and a dark hooded top.

Enquiries are ongoing into the incident and anyone with any information is asked to contact police on 101 quoting reference number 1015 18/12/15.
