Woman's purse stolen

Police are appealing for information after a purse was stolen from a woman's handbag in Sunderland.

The incident happened around 6.50pm on Saturday, January 2 in the Salvation Army Charity shop in Blandford Street in the city centre.

Officers are carrying out enquiries into the theft and are appealing for witnesses.

Two women spok to the victim shortly before her purse was taken and officers are keen to speak to the women as they may be able to help with enquiries.

The woman's purse is a black purse with a pink jewel on the zip - it contained cards and cash.
