Teenager assaulted in South Shields

Police are appealing for witnesses after an assault in South Shields.

The incident happened on Sunday, October 25, between 2.30am and 3.45am outside Kirkpatrick's in King Street.

An 18-year-old female was assaulted causing her to suffer minor injuries.

A 45-year-old woman has attended a police station voluntarily and been spoken to about the incident.

Officers are continuing to appeal for witnesses and are asking anyone with information to get in contact.
