Robbery in Lemington

Police are appealing for witnesses following a robbery in Lemington.

Between 6:30am and 6:40am on New Years Day (Fri Jan 1) a 57-year-old man was walking along Lemington Road Ends when he was approached by a man who demanded he hand over money.

The offender then attacked the 57-year-old punching and kicking him to the ground before leaving empty handed.

The attacker is described as being white, slim, around 5ft 9ins tall and in his early 20s. He had blonde hair and a pale complexion and was wearing a skinny fit dark blue or black ribbed puffa jacket with the hood up.

During the assault a taxi is believed to have driven past and the driver may have witnessed the attack.

Police are appealing for the driver of the taxi, or anyone with any information that could help with enquiries, to get in touch on 101 quoting reference number 631 01/01/16.
