Police appeal after burglary

Police investigating a burglary in Washington have released an image of a man they would like to trace.

Between 6pm on Wednesday January 6 and 8pm on Thursday, January 6 there was a burglary in Waskerley Road in Barmston.

Enquiries are being carried out into the burglary and officers are keen to speak to the man pictured as it's thought he was in the area at the time of the burglary and may be able to help police with their enquiries.

Officers are also releasing a photograph of a bike that was left abandoned at the scene of a burglary earlier this week - the burglary was on Wednesday, January 20 in Horsley Road. Police are keen to identify who the bike belongs to.

It is a men's XTC Oxide red and black mountain bike with front and rear suspension, it has a D lock on the frame and is well used. Officers are keen to identify the owner of the bike and speak to anyone who has seen it being ridden in the area.

The man pictured, or anyone with information about either burglary or who the bike belongs to, is asked to contact Northumbria Police on 101 quoting reference fwin 99 200116.
