Man assaulted in Sunderland

Police are appealing for witnesses after an assault in Sunderland.

It happened at 11.20am on Thursday, January 21, when a van driver parked on Henry Street was approached by a man who assaulted him before making off.

The man was left shaken by the incident but uninjured.

The offender is described as a white man, of slim build aged between 20-30 years old and had dark hair and eyes. He was wearing a blue jacket and hat and blue jeans with white writing.

Enquiries into the assault are ongoing and anyone with information to help is asked to contact police.
