Appeal after hit and run collision in Blyth

Police are appealing for witnesses following a hit and run collision in Blyth.

It happened on Friday, January 22, at approximately 8.30am a 35-year-old man was walking in the rear of Gatacre Street in Blyth, near to Boots the chemist when he was struck by a small red car.

The vehicle made off without stopping.  The man suffered an injury but declined medical treatment.

Officers are investigating the incident and are carrying out house to house enquiries and are appealing for witnesses.

Three men have been arrested on suspicion of asssault and are currently helping police with their enquiries.

Police are appealing for witnesses to come forward anyone who was in the area at the time and witnessed the collision is asked to contact Northumbria Police on 101, quoting log number 252 22/01/16.
