Three charged after robbery in city centre

Three men have been charged following a robbery in Newcastle city centre.

Around 1.40am on Tuesday January 26, a 19-year-old student was walking in the underpass near to Windsor Place, after leaving Robinson library, when he was approached by a group of men and threatened with a knife. 

He was then walked to the cash point at Haymarket Metro Station and robbed.

Following an investigation police have charged three men in connection with the incident.

Their names are:

Robert Swan, 18, of the Tyneside Foyer

Daniel Percy Stewart, 21, of the Tyneside Foyer

Daniel Mclean, 19, of the Tyneside Foyer

All three men have all been charged with robbery and will appear at North Tyneside Magistrates Court on Friday, January 29.
