Assault in Hexham

Police are appealing for information after a man was assaulted in Hexham.

It happened at 4.50am on Monday, February 22, when two offenders approached a 43-year-old man in the rear lane of Haugh Lane before assaulting him and making off.

The man was taken to the RVI hospital. His injuries are not believed to be life threatening.

Enquiries into the incident are ongoing and police are appealing for anyone with information to contact them.

Officers are in the area carrying out enquiries and speaking with residents to offer reassurance.
