Window smashed and man assaulted in Hebburn

Police are appealing for information after a window was smashed at a house in Hebburn.

The incident happened earlier this morning (Monday, March 13). Police were called to an address in Somerset Road in Hebburn at around 5.50am, on arrival police found a window at a house had been smashed.

A man in his 40s was found with facial injuries, it's believed the injuries were caused by a noxious substance and he has been taken to hospital for treatment.

Enquiries are on-going into the incident to establish the circumstance and trace the offenders.

Officers are in the area to speak to residents who may be concerned and offer reassurance.
