Appeal after robbery at Leazes Park

Police are appealing for information after a robbery in Newcastle.

Around 2:30am on Sunday, March 20, a man was walking through Leazes Park, near to gates opposite the Black Bull pub, when he was approached by a man and woman.

The man threatened the victim with a knife before pushing him the ground and attempting to steal his chain and wallet.

The man managed to fight the offender off and ran away. He was not injured during the incident.

The offender is described as being white, under 30 and spoke with a local accent. He was wearing dark clothing and while the offence was taking place the woman he was with referred to him as 'Kyle'.
