Police investigating an assault have released an image of woman they would like to trace.

On February 29 a member of bar staff was assault in the William Jameson Pub in Fawcett Street in Sunderland city centre. The victim suffered minor injuries.

Officers are keen to identify the woman pictured as it's thought she was in the pub at the time and may be able to help police with their enquiries.

The image is not good quality but the woman pictured is thought to have short dark hair in a bob and was wearing a black leather jacket with a black and white striped top underneath and black trousers. It's thought she is in her 50s and around 5ft 2 inches.

The woman, or anyone who recognises her, is asked to get in contact with Northumbria Police on 101 quoting reference 823 290216.
