Two arrested after graffiti in Heaton and Jesmond

Police in Newcastle have arrested two men in connection graffiti sprayed onto cars, gates and other property in Heaton and Jesmond.

The incidents are believed to have happened between April 3 and April 4.

The two men, aged 20 and 21, were arrested on Monday morning (April 11) and are currently in police custody helping with enquiries.

Enquiries are ongoing into the incidents and anyone with any information is asked to contact police on 101 quoting reference number 283 04/04/16.

Police are appealing for information after graffiti was sprayed on cars and property in Newcastle.

Between 10pm Sunday, April 3, and 8:30am Monday, April 4, vandals sprayed graffiti on a car parked in Tosson Terrace in Heaton.

Between the same approximate times graffiti was also sprayed onto house gates, a roundabout and a BT electric box in the Jesmond Park West area.

The graffiti was bright pink in colour and the damage will cost hundreds of pounds to repair and clean up.

Enquiries are ongoing into the incidents and anyone with any information is asked to contact police on 101 quoting reference number 283 04/04/16.

There was a number of similar incidents in the South Heaton area in mid February and enquiries are ongoing to establish if they are linked.
