Police are appealing for information after vandals damaged a community garden in Nuns Moor Park, west Newcastle.

Between 5pm Friday, April 8, and midday Monday, April 11, vandals climbed over the fence and got inside the 'bike garden' (as it's known locally) and destroyed a polytunnel that was being used to grow plants as part of a community project.

The park is ran by a local charity called The Time Exchange and the damage caused has been estimated at around £500 to repair.

Enquiries are ongoing into the damage and police are appealing for anyone who has any information to contact them on 101 quoting reference number 530 11/04/16.
