Appeal after caravan set on fire

Police are appealing for information after a caravan was set on fire in Newcastle.

Between 1:30am and 1:40am on Friday, April 15, a man climbed over the rear hedge of an address in Crummock Road and set fire to a caravan parked there.

After setting the fire he fled the scene.

Thankfully the caravan was empty and no one was injured but it was left completely destroyed.

Enquiries are ongoing into the incident and anyone with any information is asked to contact police on 101 quoting reference number 71 15/04/16.
