Two charged after city centre burglary

Two people have been charged in connection with a burglary where a number of laptop computers were stolen in Newcastle.

Daniel Patton, 26, from Bristol Drive in Battle Hill and Charleen Tracey Davison, 31, from Westgate Road have been charged with joint burglary.

The pair were arrested in Wallsend following a burglary from a premises in Eldon Square.

They will appear at South East Northumberland Magistrates Court on April 20.



Two arrested after laptops stolen in Newcastle burglary.

Around 6.09am on Tuesday, April 19, an off duty Police Community Support Officer spotted a man and woman acting suspiciously near Monument Metro station in the city centre.

They were carrying a number of laptop computer bags and got onto the Metro heading towards North Shields.

Enquiries were carried out and it was established that the laptops had been taken during a burglary at Eldon Square that happened sometime overnight.

Around 9.15am this morning officers arrested a 26-year-old man and 31-year-old woman in Wallsend High Street on suspicion of bugrlary and recovered a number of laptop computers.

The pair are currently in police custody and enquiries into the incident are ongoing.
