Police are appealing for information after an attempted robbery in Felling.

At 7am on Wednesday, April 20, a 45-year-old woman was walking in Crowhall  Lane when she was approached by a man who grabbed her bag.

The woman put up a struggle and the man ran off empty handed towards the Stephenson Terrace.

She was left uninjured but very upset and shaken by what happened.

The offender is described as being in his early 20s and was wearing an all black tracksuit with red stripes up the side.

Enquiries are ongoing in the area including checking CCTV and speaking to local residents.

Anyone with any information is asked to contact police on 101 quoting reference number 145 20/04/16.

After the incident the victim was helped by a man and woman in, what we think, was a black Citroen Picasso style vehicle.

Police would like these people to contact them as they may have information that could help with the investigation.
