Appeal to trace man who shouted abuse in South Shields street

Police are appealing for information after an incident in South Shields.

Between 9pm and 9.15pm on Tuesday, March 1, a man threatened another man and shouted offensive language at a woman outside McDonalds in King Street.

Enquiries are ongoing into the incident and officers are keen to trace a man who was in the area at the time and who might be able to help with enquiries.

He is described as having dark blonde hair and was wearing beige trousers, a black and grey jumper and black trainers with white laces.

Officers are appealing for this man, anyone who recognises him, or anyone who witnessed the incident to contact Northumbria Police on 101 quoting reference OIC2611.

We have CCTV footage of this man and may consider releasing this at a later stage to help identify him.
